Mike Roberts is one of the two founding partners of Vardanega Roberts.

He was admitted as a solicitor in 1983 and has specialised in insurance work since 1983.

Mike specialises in Strata Insurance claims and recoveries. Mike has undertaken a range of personal injury claims including catastrophic personal injury claims as well as defending personal injury public liability and product liability claims.

Mike has managed a substantial range of property claims, including construction and major motor property claims and subrogated recoveries. He has had great success in recovery initiatives for both Suncorp and Lumley in major construction subrogated recovery litigation. Mike has also handled major fraud claims and Accident and Health matters. He has a special interest and insight into in IT, cyber attack and data protection claims and policy advice and Privacy.

Mike also drafts and reviews policy wordings. For coverholders developing new products, simplifying and updating wordings, in specialist areas of insurance including, motor, property, strata, causlaty, epl and management liabilbty, PI and the gig economy.

Mike conducts litigation in the Federal, Supreme, District and Local Courts, the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) as well as VCAT and QCAT and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT). Michael has strong communication skills presenting recently to clients on the following topics:

Michael has a particular interest in programming and software development, designing IS system  for legal practices (he designed our CALS, NELDB and ESI systems) and cost effective, client-focused risk shared subrogated recovery programs for insurers.
